An important message from our Prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, has been clearly shared with all Latter-day Saints. The message is: We can expect to receive personalized Abrahamic “tests” in our lives. Similar tests were put upon the great Prophet Abraham during his life. Likewise, we can expect similar challenges in our lives. Included in this video message are similar recorded messages from other great apostles and prophets and in our day, including Elder Neal A. Maxwell, President John Taylor, President Howard W. Hunter, Elder Tood D. Christopherson, President Harold B. Lee, President Thomas S. Monson, and Elder David A. Bednar.
Clearly in our day, we can anticipate “Abrahamic Tests” similar to our Great Prophet Abraham. As Latter-day Saints, we can expect to receive our own personalized “Abrahamic tests.” If endured well, all these things can be for our good and can greatly enlarge our souls …including an enlarged capacity for joy. In many ways, we will all be tried as Abraham and other great men of God. We must be tried as other men of God, that we may ultimately be able to serve in God Great Kingdom. We must learn and grow that me may become stronger, that we may change for the better. And, that we may build our lives as our Heavenly Father desires and become something different from what we were …better than what we were …more understanding than what we were …more empathetic than what we were …with stronger testimonies then what we had before. This should be our purpose …to persevere and endure well. And also, to become more spiritually refined as we make our ways through sunshine and sorrow. Were it not for challenges to overcome and problems to solve, we would remain much as we are with little or no progress to our goal of Eternal Life.
